7 days—Kenya Great Savanna Game Safari
Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu
We start our safari by driving to Samburu National Reserve which is situated in Samburu County in the Rift valley part of Kenya.7 Days Best of Kenya Game The reserve is known for its abundance in rare northern specialist species such as Grevy Zebras and Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, and Baisy Oryx. There are also the big five animals (lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalo, and Elephants). You will spend two nights with morning and evening game drives.
Day 2: Samburu
On the second day, you get an option of starting early before sunrise at 6:00 am. and coming back for breakfast and an evening game drive starting at 16:00 and experiencing the magical moment as the sun sets down behind the horizons with a beautiful silhouette against the dimming African skies.
In between the mid-morning you can do nature walks at an extra cost. This Park is renowned for its over 350 species of birds recorded, or just relax as you listen to the singing sounds of the birds.
Day 3: Samburu to Ol- Pejeta
After Samburu, we will have an early morning drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Nanyuki, Laikipia County where you will check-in for lunch at your accommodation.
You will embark on your afternoon safari starting at 15:30 and have a chance to visit the Chimpanzee endangered species enclosure before proceeding with your drive visiting Baraka the blind Rhino among other inhabitants of this great conservancy back to the camp before night falls in.
Day 4: Naivasha
An early morning drive to Lake Naivasha, one of Kenya’s freshwater lakes situated in the Northwest of Nairobi. We will arrive at a good time for lunch and check-in our accommodation.
We will then have an afternoon boat excursion and later embark on a nature walk at Crescent Island as you watch the sunset down the African horizon. Lake Naivasha also has over 385 species of birds which is also amazing for bird lovers and big families of Hippos.
Day 5: Maasai Mara Reserve
Depart to the Maasai Mara. The reserve is situated within the Rift valley in the southern part of Kenya. It is known for its richest concentration of wildlife including the Big Five.
They are also other animals including zebras, antelopes, and hartebeests. This park has the largest concentration of African lions including the black-maned lion. It is also known for its wildebeest migration as the animals cross the Mara River between mid-June and October.
Day 6: Masai Mara Reserve
On the second day, your activities will be largely determined by the wildlife migration patterns and the weather. You could opt for the morning and the afternoon game drives or opt for a full day looking for a spot later for your picnic lunch, whichever best suits you. A full day gives you a chance to visit the Mara River while on a game drive. Hot air balloons ride or visit the nearby Maasai villages can be arranged at an extra cost.
Day 7:Nairobi
Morning departure to Nairobi after having breakfast at your accommodation and transfers to either a hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Accommodation can be arranged on this day upon request.
